Op-Ed Development

Years

2020-2022

As communicators, we employ storytelling to start conversations people aren’t ready to have around issues that matter to our clients.

We use this impactful narrative tool to shed light on perspectives missing from the existing media landscape to educate the public and incite action.

Color Of Change is the nation’s largest online racial justice organization.

They help people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us. As a national online force driven by 7 million members, Color of Change move decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America.

The Challenge

Color of Change approached Samara Collective in 2020 to support a growing need to develop op-eds that take a stance and support their campaigns to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back, we humbly accepted the opportunity.

The Solution

We worked directly with the client and their narrative department to find a production schedule that worked for all and allowed for turnarounds that met the news cycle’s demands. Since the inception of our collaboration with the social justice organization, we have drafted countless articles.

The Results

Our newsworthy op-eds — ranging from the perspective of local activists to c-suite executives — were published in outlets including Blavity, Essence, The Root, Billboard Magazine, and more.
